Kilgrave

If Kilgrave is returning to Marvel’s Jessica Jones Series, it could be a mixed blessing. While the character is dark and disturbing, he has parallels in the real world. It would also be a shame to see Jessica’s journey end without her dealing with the consequences of her addiction. Still, if Kevin Feige keeps the series as canon, Kilgrave could make an appearance.

Structural flaws

The Structural Flaws of Marvel’s Jessica Jones Series: First, this show is essentially a feminist critique. The series mocks the consumerist ideal of Woman by portraying a character who is depressed, alcoholic, and jaded. It also features a character whose mother is uncontrollable and under the influence of an illegal medical research facility. Moreover, the show’s villain, Dr. Karl Malus, is an unreliable, manipulative sex predator who uses his powers for evil.

Formal flaws

The series’ first season has some flaws. The fight scenes, for example, are not up to par with other Marvel shows. Jessica Jones doesn’t get any formal martial arts training and is more of a brawler than an artist. That makes the show less believable, and viewers may find it hard to connect with the story. However, it is worth noting that the series’ strong female protagonist does not detract from its underlying themes.
